An underwater fairy tail...
They gently float through the clear water of Florida’s coastlines. Perfectly adapted to their natural habitat Manatees’ (Sirenia) continue to commute through their homely waters as they have done since time immemorial. Their massive bodies easily betray the gracefulness with which they move through the waters, leaving the impression that they are not bound by the natural rule of gravity.
The age of mankind however poses to be the biggest challenge the manatees’ have ever had to face. Increasing human activity in their natural habitat, as well as intensified boat traffic on Florida’s rivers dramatically threatens their population and makes their future highly uncertain.

But why should something so unknown be worth our attention? This documentation hopes to help unravel one of our planets most exceptional creatures. To discover the nature of these gentle giants and to show that Manatees’ too, have a right to their place on our extraordinary planet.

This documentation hopes to contribute its part to the enduring survival of these wonderful creatures.
